1. MD Anaesthesiology : A rigorous postgraduate training program admitting 44 students annually.
2. B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technician: A professional undergraduate course with an intake of 11 seats/per year, focused on training skilled OT technicians.
Department dedicates at least one hour daily to structured PG teaching, ensuring consistent engagement and timely coverage of competencies.
Activities include seminars, journal clubs, and tutorials, fostering deep learning, literature appraisal, and conceptual clarity.Clinical
teaching takes place through hands-on exposure in Operation Theatresand Intensive Care Units, integrating theory with practiceas per NMC
guidelines. Training spans 3 years, with progressive exposure through basic, subspecialty, and advanced anaesthesia modules with emphasis
on intensive care experience, and critical care management.Students are undergoing periodic appraisals.
Prototype of Teaching sessions for Post Graduate trainees
The department is teaching undergraduates based on Volume III of the NMC's Competency-Based Medical Education with a structured blend of theory
lectures, small-group teaching, and clinical teaching. Almost two thirds of the teaching hours are delivered via small group teaching, tutorials,
and skill sessions. Competencies such as ventilator setup, pain assessment, fluid management, and airway management are taught via DOAP and
interactive groups with active learning focus. The program included: Pre Anaesthetic Check-up (PAC) Clinics and OT Observations for applying
theory to practice, ICU Posting, Post Anaesthesia Recovery, and Pain Clinicscovering real-world patient management incl. ventilator monitoring,
fluid therapy, and pain assessments.Simulation & Skill Lab Sessions for key procedures: basic life support, airway management, IV/peripheral
and central line placement, regional blocks.
