Pt. B.D.Sharma University Of Health Sciences will be holding its 2nd Convocation ceremony on 5th Nov 2022. Governor of Haryana and Chancellor of University, Honourable Shri. Bandaru Dattatreya Ji will confer the Degrees.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

IT IS TO INFORM ALL THE PARTICIPANTS THAT, as conveyed earlier, ONLY THOSE STUDENTS AND ACCOMPANYING PERSON/PERSONS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE CONVOCATION WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE DRESS REHEARSAL WHICH WILL BE HELD ON 04/11/2022 AT 10:30 AM IN THE SHUSHRUT AUDITORIUM . THOSE WHO DO NOT ATTEND THE DRESS REHERSAL ON 04/11/2022 AT 10:30 AM WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE CONVOCATION. PLEASE BE IN THE AUDITORIUM ON 04/11/2022 AT 10 AM..

We are pleased to inform that Pt. B.D Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak is organizing 2nd convocation on 5.11.2022 and this is the first announcement more information regarding the convocation will be provided time to time on this web page.

B.D Sharma University of Health Sciences is Health Sciences Government University in the state of Haryana. The University is affiliating in nature and was established on 2ndJune, 2008. The University is located in the heart of city, Rohtak. It has a vast sprawling green campus spread over 369 acres and has built up area of 300753.07 square meters.

University has 51 departments and administers five constituent colleges namely Pt. BD Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Swami Dayanand Postgraduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy located within the main campus. Besides this there are 117 affiliated colleges which are located in various parts of the state.

It is a premier seat of higher learning in health sciences. University is fully funded from the Government of Haryana and provides encouragement to meritorious students. The University campus is lush green providing clean and peaceful environment. Our education empowers individuals to challenge conventional thinking in pursuit of original ideas. Students in the University broaden their perspectives on global health issues to meet the Vision and Mission of the University.

Convocation is the graduation ceremony to award degrees/diplomas to students declared qualified in various examinations and honorary degrees to be conferred on distinguished persons with unique record of serving the society or contributing meaningfully to the world of knowledge and wisdom. On this prestigious day, students who have excelled in specified areas as per University norms are also awarded University gold medal and silver medals and endowment awards. The details regarding the programme and procedure of convocation are given here under:

1. Programme

The second convocation of the University is scheduled on 5.11.2022, Sushruta Auditorium, University Campus, from 11:00 am onwards, wherein the degrees will be conferred on the graduands and gold medals/ Silver medals will be awarded to the toppers of various programmes. Endowment awards will be given to the students excelling in specified area and fulfilling the requirements of such an award.

2. Procedure for attending Convocation

For attending the convocation to obtain degrees and/or gold medals, the graduands are required to apply in the prescribed proforma available for registration on the website. The duly filled in application form for attending the convocation should reach the University latest by 31.10.2022. All the registrations are online only as per the prescribed proforma available in the Convocation web page.

3. Persons who can attend

All graduands of the constituent colleges of the University who have qualified in the university examination from 2020 to 2022 and have completed internship that is who confirm their participation by submitting the requisite application and duly registering themselves. Each graduand will be entitled to bring along with him/her, two guest (parent/guardian/relative).The details of each guest should be mentioned in the application submitted by the graduand. All graduands passed out from the constituent colleges of the University shall be able to attend 2nd Convocation and rest of the affiliated college students, graduation ceremony may be organized by the individual institutions.

4. REGISTRATION FOR CONVOCATION(for candidates of constituent colleges only)

Who can Register for 2nd Convocation 2022

Degrees:- To be awarded to students of constituent colleges as per details given below

1 Post Doctoral candidates: Post Doctoral candidates: 1.-DM, MCH, who have passed in the year April-2021.
2 Post Graduate Course Candidates
  1. MD,MS,MDS passed in April-2022
  2. M.Phil., passed in Feb.2022.
  3. M.Sc Nursing passed in Aug.-2021.
  4. M.Pharmacy passed in June-2021
  5. MPT passed in Sept.-2021
3 Graduate course Candidates
  1. MBBS passed in Nov. 2020 and completed the internship.
  2. BDS passed in Aug.&Dec. 2020 and completed the internship
  3. B.Pharmacy passed in June-2022
  4. BPT passed in July-2020 and completed the internship
  5. B.ScNursing& Post- Basic B.Sc Nursing passed in Aug. & Dec.-2021
4 Graduate Paramedical Course candidates B.ScMLT and other paramedical course candidates who have passed in the year Sept.-2021 and completed the internship wherever is required
5. Entry Passes:

All graduands who have confirmed their participation will be issued an entry pass each, for the accompanying guests one day before the Convocation after the rehearsal is over. The entry passes will be issued from the counters set up for this purpose in the entrance of the auditorium. The candidates should compulsorily bring their photo identity proofs for obtaining entry passes. Entry passes will not be mailed to the graduands. Every graduand should display their convocation identity card to allow him/her to attend the ceremony.

6. CONVOCATION DRESS:
COMPULSORY DRESS CODE FOR CONVOCATION
Men- (Faculty and students) Men- (Faculty and students) White color full sleeve shirt, white trouser with black belt, white socks and black shoes.
Women- (Faculty and students) Cream color golden border saree, half sleeve blouse of cream color and black shoes/ sandals. OR White kameej, white salwar, white dupatta and black shoes/sandals.

The above mentioned dress is compulsory for the convocation and also for the rehearsal one day before the convocation and dress should be prepared by the participants at their own expense. Those who do not follow the dress code will not be allowed in the convocation. For Invited guests and dignitaries the above dress code is desirable but not compulsory.

Convocation robe:

In order to promote the Indian culture and heritage, black gowns are prohibited and instead everyone will wear Sash according their designation and disciplines.

7 MBBS/BDS/other graduates Sash in yellow satin with one golden strip of one inch and two embroidered university logos
8 Court members and EC members Sash in Dark green satin with two strips of 1 inch of golden satin and two embroidered university logos
7. Collection and Deposition of Sash (Academic Dress) & Convocation entry pass: For Graduands

The graduands applying within the due date for attending the convocation will receive their degrees, convocation kits (consisting of entry pass and food coupons). The graduands are required to return the academic dress (sash) intact immediately after the Convocation is over, at the counter(s) set up for the purpose. The academic sash will be issued by paying a refundable deposit of Rupees 1000.

8. Rehearsal

Rehearsal will be held on 4.11.022 before the convocation at Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak at 11.00 am. The reporting time for the graduands at the venue will be 9:45 am. All the graduands attending the Convocation are required to attend the same in the dress code mentioned above. The faculty and officers of the University, EC Members, members of the court of the University are also required to attend the rehearsal.

9. Seating Arrangements on the day of the Convocation

The graduands will take their seats by 10.15 am in the Convocation area in the concerned blocks after wearing their academic robes. The recipients of University gold medals, endowment award and degrees in person from the Chancellor will occupy seats in the front rows reserved for them. The faculty who attend Academic procession will occupy seats marked according to their designation. The invited guests, VVIPs, VIPs, faculty members etc. will take their seats in the designated areas by 10:45 am

Seating on the Dais

The Chancellor, Special Guests of Honour, Guest of Honour, Recipient of Honoris Causa, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examination and Dean Academics. The Deans, and Members of the executive committee will take their seats on the right side of the dais whereas the members of the court will be seated left side of the dais at the place reserved for them

10 Maintenance of Discipline
  • During the entire ceremony the graduands and accompanying guests will remain seated and observe complete silence.
  • Since Convocation Ceremony is a solemn occasion which requires a particular decorum, it is strongly advised that graduands and accompanying guests keep their mobile phones in switched off/silent mode and do not carry with them cameras/handy-cams etc., and refrain from photography/videography in the Convocation hall
  • They are also advised to maintain complete silence, refrain from moving in and out of the Convocation hall and cheer and shout in between award ceremony and Convocation address. However, they can show their enthusiasm and boost the morale of the awardees by clapping as and when required
11 Photography/Videography

No private photographers will be permitted in the Convocation hall. However, the University will make necessary arrangements for taking the photographs during the Convocation ceremony. Candidates may contact the photographers authorized by the University for their Photographs after the ceremony is declared closed.

More Information will be uploaded in the UHSR website as and when it is available. All the graduands who are qualified to attend the convocation should arrange for convocation dress as mentioned above and make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements at their own expense.
