About the Department

Pathology is the study of causes and effects of disease or injury. The word ‘Pathology’ also refers to the study of disease in general, incorporating wide range of bioscience research fields and medical practices. In department of Pathology, they are three sections, Histopatholgy, Cytopathology, Clinical Pathology (Haematology). High end equipment and Machines, including Automated Tissue Processor, Flowcytometry for confirmation and typing of Leukaemia/lymphoma, immunohistochemistry for tumour diagnostic, liquid based cytology, Automated Haematology analyser for complete blood count and fluid cell counts, Automated coagulation analyser for coagulation profile and factor Assays, HPLC for thalassaemia screening typing along with basic investigations like urine complete examination and semen examination.
